Here are things you can do to increase your Happiness:
- Spend money on experiences (e.g. romantic weekend getaway) rather than possessions. Experiences will provide you with social interactions and a lifetime of memories. Possessions are not as relevant as frequently believed.
- Compare yourself to the correct peer group. What used to be the Joneses has been replaced with fake social media – resulting in people feeling pressures and frustrations in not being able to live up to unrealistic expectations. Did you know that a whole industry emerged to cater to people requesting a Private Jet for a 1 hour photo shoot only?
- Try to increase your salary to at least $80,000 per year. Happiness levels do not increase substantially for incomes higher than $80,000 per year.
